On March 21, 2024 (International Tree Planting Day), the Greenport Nigeria-Dutch Horticulture partnership project launched, marking a significant step in a collective effort towards agricultural and environmental sustainability in Nigeria.
One of the highlights during the launch was a commemorative tree planting by H.E Michel Deelen, the Consul-General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Lagos, Mr. Richard Ogundele, the Chairman of Greenport Nigeria and Mr. Frans de Jong, the founder of Seed2Feed.
The impact cluster project is a collaborative venture by a consortium of dedicated partners that include Soilless Farm Lab, JMSF AGRIBUSINESS LIMITED, Koppert, Priva, LDE Centre for Sustainability, @PanAfricanSeeds, Viscon Plant Technology – Young Plant Automation (formerly Visser) and Seed2Feed – all dedicated to fostering positive change in agriculture, across Nigeria.
The Greenport initiative is fueled by the visionary support of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and nestled within the vibrant community of Awowo in Ogun State, Nigeria.
