Nigerian robotics startup, TerraHaptix, has released Iroko, an autonomous first-responder drone designed to safeguard Africa’s critical infrastructure. Already deployed to assets such as mines and farmlands, Iroko is a modular, mass-producible drone powered by ArtemisOS, TerraHaptix’s proprietary autonomy software for threat detection and deterrence.
With a production capacity of 20 Iroko drones per day, TerraHaptix is scaling operations to enhance security across the continent.
This initiative underscores the company’s commitment to transforming Africa’s security capabilities through advanced technology.

Founded in 2024 and headquartered in Abuja, TerraHaptix specialises in building autonomous systems—including drones and sentry towers—to protect critical infrastructure like mines and refineries. The company operates a 15,000-square-foot factory in Nigeria, with an annual production capacity exceeding 10,000 drones and sentry towers.
In May 2024, TerraHaptix announced a strategic shift from defense to exclusively serving the global commercial market, aligning with the launch of products like the Archer surveillance drone and ArtemisOS.
The introduction of Iroko represents a significant advancement in autonomous security solutions tailored to the African context, addressing the need for rapid response and robust protection of vital assets.
