A few weeks ago, Dr. Bosun Tijani (Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy) had shared plans for converting an existing property of the Federal Government of Nigeria (Located in San Francisco, USA) into a Nigerian Startup House.
The intention is to provide the Nigerian startup ecosystem with a stronger presence in the Bay Area and Silicon Valley, both of which significantly contribute to the total amount of Venture Capital funds sourced by Nigeria’s tech founders and networks.
Minister Tijani writes:
The Nigeria Startup House – a true “Palace for the People” located in the affluent Presidio Heights of San Francisco, will offer Nigerian startups a chance to accelerate the growth of their businesses by allowing them do a residency in the Bay Area to engage with potential partners and investors.
As we firm up the plans to make the Startup House fully operational, I’d like to know what other types of opportunities that startup founders are looking to take advantage of with this? #NigerianExcellence
