At a time when the UK’s hospitality sector is at an all time low, industry leaders have said the industry is fighting for survival.
Little surprise when Emeka Frederick (Co-founder of the extremely popular Chuku’s Nigerian Tapas Restaurant, UK) chimes in: “Two of our neighbouring restaurants have closed down! They didn’t return after Christmas 😞.”
The reality is evident as restaurant closures continue to clearly surpass openings, particularly in suburban areas, leaving business confidence quite shaky.
In a show of resilience and optimism, Emeka adds: “As I watched our young team in action last night, I felt immense gratitude for the warm space my sister Ifeyinwa and I have cultivated—not just for our customers, but also for our staff. The journey forward may be challenging, but it’s one at Chuku’s we’re navigating with grace ✨”.
“This ethos lies at the heart of Chuku’s – Nigerian Tapas Restaurant, as we welcome you to Lagos – transporting you to discover Nigeria without the need for a passport 🇳🇬”.
“If you share our passion for hospitality and resilience, and are interested in funding the next leg of our journey, pop your details here“.
