Alex Okosi (Managing Director, Africa at Google)

Alex Okosi (Managing Director, Africa, Google) is sending out a reminder that applications to the 2024 cohort of the Google Hustle Academy are still open. Outlining the essence of the program, Okosi shares hi sthoughts:

They say Africa is built on hustle. There’s an undeniable drive on the continent to succeed, a spirit I deeply admire.

In my own journey, there have been countless days fueled by late nights, chasing down opportunities, and constantly striving to learn and grow.

But here’s the thing: hustle alone can only take you so far. What if I told you there was a way to work smarter, not just harder?

That’s why I’m excited to see entrepreneurs join our Hustle Academy, a free, week-long virtual bootcamp designed to equip Kenyan, Nigerian, and South African business owners with the power of AI.

This isn’t just about fancy tech jargon. This is about giving you the tools to automate tasks, gain deeper customer insights, and reach new markets, all to make your hustle more impactful.

Modules for the 2024 cohort will have cutting-edge AI modules integrated directly into the curriculum, which will equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge to:

  • Learn about cutting-edge AI tools (and how they work) to save time at work and on tasks.
  • Explore new AI-powered marketing tools and how to supercharge their digital strategy.

Says Google

The inclusion of AI into the Hustle Academy curriculum marks a new milestone in our journey to empower African SMBs. The possibilities are endless – from boosting productivity to building a winning marketing strategy to drive growth, AI has the potential to revolutionise the way businesses operate. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to support these incredible entrepreneurs and contribute to the vibrant economic landscape of Africa. Together, we’re building a future where innovation thrives, businesses flourish, and the continent’s full potential is unleashed.

Applications for the 2024 Hustle Academy cohort are open to SMBs in Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa, and the program will run through to the end of the year.
