The 3rd Ambassador Walter Carrington Annual Symposium will be holding on December 05, 2023 at the J. F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium (University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba-Lagos).
The annual symposium is named in memory of former U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Walter Carrington, who was a champion of civil liberties, democracy and closer ties between the U.S. and Nigeria.
Taking off promptly at 10AM, the 2023 event will focus on the innovation, creation and sustainability of Youth Entrepreneurship for a Better Future.
During the occasion, a business pitching competition will hold for student entrepreneurs (in a Nigerian tertiary institution), to pitch their business for a chance to win cash gifts and business support.

The annual Ambassador Walter Carrington Symposium is a movement of young Nigerians who are passionate about making a positive difference in their society. It brings together CYFI fellows, young Nigerians from diverse backgrounds and sectors, and key stakeholders from government, civil society, academia, and the private sector to discuss and exchange ideas on how to advance accessible health, inclusive education, civil liberties, a sustainable environment, and economic empowerment in Nigeria – the ideals of Walter Carrington.
