MTN Bénin is set to deploy its 5G network, which will provide subscribers with enhanced digital experiences and significant technological advances.
During her strategic visit to the company, Aurelie Ilimatou Adam Soule (Bénin’s Minister of Digital and Digitalisation) and her delegation were shown, first-hand, the potential of 5G technology as the foundation for a modern and connected world – in terms of transmission speed, reduced latency, and increased capacity.

Says Uche Ofodile (CEO, MTN Bénin): “MTN Bénin showcased a few examples of what can be done with 5G to Mme la Ministre du Numérique et de la Digitalisation and her délégation. We are 5G-ready. This opens up a world of possibilities for our Y’ello family. We will work together to make those possibilities a reality”.

According to a GSMA report (titled 5G in Africa: realising the potential), the increased performance that 5G networks offer can enable new use cases and applications that will positively impact many industry sectors. In the period to 2030, 5G is expected to contribute approximately $26 billion to Africa’s economy. Retail, manufacturing and agriculture are among the sectors that will see the most impact.
