In 2020, the Moniepoint Group kicked off its Women -in-Tech initiative whose objective was to ensure that young women gained access to building a career in technology, through an internship.
Past cohorts had always consisted of five talented interns – brilliant women who have pressed on to make incredible strides – but 2024 has seen Moniepoint double the intakes to 10 females who will gain hands-on experience in building products across the company’s Cloud Engineering, Backend Engineering, Technical Product Management, Data Engineering, Systems Administration, Technical Support, and User Experience teams.
The ladies on the shortlist are:
- Ruth Adetunji – Product Management intern
- Faith Aikhumhetse-Ali – System Admin intern
- Celestina Amadi – Cloud Engineering intern
- Ogechukwu Ata – Technical Support intern
- Simi Da-Walang – Frontend Engineering intern
- Isioma Enwerem – Technical Support intern
- Melodie Ezeani – Data Engineering intern
- Ebele Nnacheta – Product Management intern
- Tomi Thomas – UI/UX Design intern
- Great Amubode – Frontend Engineering intern
- Hadiza Umar – Backend Engineering intern
Driven by a deep belief in the importance of leveling the playing field in tech, Tosin Eniolorunda (Founder & Group CEO, Moniepoint Inc.) shares his thoughts:
I see these women as future leaders who will shape the tech landscape in ways that inspire and transform, because when they join us, they receive mentorship and work on real projects that help shape the financial experience in Africa.
This initiative has been a personal passion project for me, and seeing it impact lives year after year reminds me why we must continue to push for inclusion and representation in this industry.
To the Dream10, I see you, and Iâm excited for what the future holds!
