The GAPC is an annual event that seeks to identify and support the most innovative and promising agripreneurs in Africa. The competition is open to all African entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35 who have innovative ideas for agricultural businesses.Â
The first winner, emerging from the Northern region of Africa is Fatima El Khou (Founder, CEO, and Head of Research & Innovation at Jafife, Morocco. Jafife uses digitalised solar dryers to transform food into natural ingredients for sustainable supply chains.
The second winner, emerging from the Western region of Africa is Dr. Iddi Mohammed Faried (Co-founder & CEO Kodu Technology, Ghana). Kodu utilises agricultural by-products from banana and plantain cultivation to create eco-friendly sanitary pads.
These two incredible agripreneurs took centre stage at the AFS Forum Youth Townhall to receive their awards from Arne Cartridge (Special Advisor at Yara International) and Agnes Kalibata (President of AGRA). This moment marks the culmination of their inspiring journeys! đđŒ
Each grand prize winner takes home US$50,000 to scale their business and amplify their impact in the agritech sector. đ
