In collaboration with BankWise, Access Bank Plc has launched its innovative anking platform, 901.ng – an offline banking application that will enable over 45 million Access Bank customers access seamless banking services without the need for data to carry out their everyday banking transactions with the financial institution.
According to BankWise, it currently has eight other banks in its portfolio that, with over $150B in transactions, would soon be launching their offline banking applications.
Said Victor Etuokwu (Deputy Managing Director, Access Bank): “In today’s fast-paced digital age, connectivity is often taken for granted. However, millions of individuals worldwide still face challenges accessing online banking services due to various reasons such as poor internet infrastructure, remote locations or security concerns. Recognising this gap, Access Bank has developed this solution to empower our customers to bank securely, anytime, anywhere, irrespective of internet availability”.
BankWise adds that its mission is to bridge the digital divide and provide the over half a billion under-banked and under-served people in Africa with equal and affordable access to banking services – by building out the next generation digital offline banking infrastructure across the continent.
