Taking a stand on embracing culture, intersectionality and inclusion, Goldman Sachs and the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford recently convened a strategic consultation team to review and render advice on their 10,000 Small Businesses UK program.
The aim was to help increase the number of Black Founders on the program and demonstrate how welcoming it is for Black and under-represented founders.
Dr. Elizabeth Shaw (Founder, 1000 Black Voices) was on the review panel, and shares her experience:
Certainly delighted to be part of this team of inspiring leaders. To these individuals bringing passion and advice – thank you Bolaji Sofoluwe, Dr Caroline C., Flavilla Fongang, Professor Monder Ram OBE,
Dr Shaun Danquah, Sylvana Walcott
Thank you Vivienne Garnett, Lydia Finnegan, Edward David, DPhil for empowering open conversation. Seriously, nothing was out of bounds.
We talked about a number of actions that can play a huge part in building trust relationships and the long-term success of Black-led businesses.
An absolute pleasure to be involved and contribute to an incredible program, sharing experiences working with global companies, entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, government and partners around the globe.
Looking forward to learning how the outcome from our engagement will be embedded into the program.
