Dare Olatoye‘s sister got married for the first time at the age of 47 to an amazing gentleman who had lived barely 10 minutes away from her for many years, and had also been searching for a committed relationship all that time. Yet they had never met.
Dare and his brother realised that there were millions of people in his sister’s situation, which was an issue that technology could easily solve. So they set out to build what became the Trueflutter app – a powerful matchmaking tool for Africans on the continent and in the diaspora, whose every line of code and product features have been developed with a singular question in mind: ‘How can we help Trueflutter users find a compatible match without the painful trial and error of swiping and matching with hundreds of profiles?’
To reinforce the strength of their app, Dare and his team recently hosted an in-person date night event, with specific criteria from the Trueflutter community:
•It had to be fun
•It had to have really awesome people
•It needed to be intimate, with not too many attendees
•The quality and caliber of people had to be exceptional
Says Dare:
Last Friday, we delivered the first in a series of exclusive, private VIP Date nights, with just 10 gentlemen men and 10 ladies.
Lots of connections made and phone numbers exchanged 😀
We’ve hosted many events over the years, but this was by far my favourite.
Beyond the hilarious MC, fun games, romantic ambience, and exquisite food, we also engaged in discussions about polarising yet pertinent issues surrounding dating.
That discussion was my favorite part of the evening.P.S. We keep everything very private at these events and obviously won’t share pictures of guests on social media.
The power of digital platforms to profitably disrupt industries continues to impress!
