Lagos, 3 September 2025 โ€” Jennifer Awirigweโ€”widely known as Financial Jennifer and celebrated as a leading voice in womenโ€™s financial empowermentโ€”has been honoured with the 2025 Lordโ€™s Achievers Award in the Finance category at the prestigious 7th edition of the awards. The ceremony, held at The Monarch Events Centre in Lekki, Lagos, was themed โ€œIcons of Impactโ€ and powered by Lordโ€™s London Dry Gin.

The Lordโ€™s Achievers Awards spotlight individuals whose exceptional contributions across various sectors inspire societal growth and progress. Awirigwe received recognition alongside other notable honoureesโ€”including Debbie Larry-Izamoje in media and journalism, and Victory Ashaka in literatureโ€”affirming the broad scope and impact of the awards.

During the event, Oluwagbemileke Lawal, Marketing Manager at Nigeria Distilleries Limited, emphasized how celebrating such achievers guarantees and boosts Nigeriaโ€™s future by inspiring the next generation to aim higher. Meanwhile, Olusegun Akinyemiju, Senior Brand Manager at Lordโ€™s London Dry Gin, spotlighted the essence of true leadershipโ€”making a lasting impact beyond titles.

The event also featured the inaugural โ€œLord of the Cityโ€ award presented to Ife Durosinmi-Etti.

Empowering women through finance

Jennifer Awirigweโ€™s win highlights her unwavering commitment to financial literacy and inclusion, especially for women.

  • Championing Financial Independence: As the founder of FinTribeโ€”Nigeriaโ€™s first and largest women-only finance communityโ€”she has cultivated a thriving network where thousands of women learn to build wealth collectively through education, savings, and investing.
  • Breaking Down Barriers: A chartered accountant, stockbroker, and certified financial instructor, Awirigwe cuts through complexity to demystify finance for her audiences. Her training initiatives (including finance fairs and online programs) and her presence as a relatable, empowering voice have been transformational.
  • Impact in Numbers: Through FinTribe, Awirigwe has influenced over 20,000 women in personal finance training and reached hundreds of thousands via social media. In a landmark initiative dubbed the โ€œChallenge Yourselfโ€ Finance Fair, she drew over 6,000 women to participate in financial empowerment workshops.

Jennifer Awirigweโ€™s recognition as a 2025 Lordโ€™s Achiever not only highlights her individual excellence but underscores a broader movementโ€”one where women are increasingly stepping into their roles as architects of their financial futures. Her journey from managing modest personal finances to leading an impactful community-driven financial revolution is nothing short of inspiring.

As Nigeria continues to nurture its next generation of changemakers, Financial Jennifer stands as a shining example of how community, clarity, and consistent action can redefine whatโ€™s possible.
