HelpMum Africa – promoters of maternal and infant healthcare in Africa – were recently announced as one of the winners of the Meta LIama Innovation grant award, during the Concordia Summit that took place in New York during the UN General Assembly (#UNGA79).
The company’s win is tied to its developing an innovative chatbot service that delivers accurate and timely information on vaccination and immunisation.
Leveraging Llama 3’s advanced language processing capabilities, HelpMum Africa created Vax-Llamamodel — an AI-driven, open-source model designed to provide reliable vaccination information. This open source model can be integrated into HelpMum’s chatbot service and adopted or used by healthcare organisations worldwide.
Says Dr. Abiodun Adereni (Founder & CEO, HelpMum Africa):
As Meta believes, open sourcing is essential to democratizing the benefits of this technology on a large scale. HelpMum Africa is appreciative of Meta’s amazing recognition and support during this crucial phase of our development of Impact AI innovations, which will improve maternal and newborn healthcare across the globe.
Huge congratulations to my fantastic team at HelpMum Africa for their hard work in developing this incredible solution that has allowed us to win this award.
