The Enterprise for Youth in Agriculture (EYIA) initiative is a joint project between Soilless Farm Lab (founded by Samson Ogbole) and the Mastercard Foundation, under which young agri-enthusiasts are trained in profitable and sustainable agriculture.
Farmer Samson has taken time to de-mystify the way EYiA works:
1. We are not taking any form of investment (debt or equity)
2. Our three months of training is free for those aged 18 to 29, free accommodation, and it is residential (www.sfarmlab.com/EYiA/)
3. We set up farms at a fee.
Our headquarters is at Awowo, Ewekoro LGA, Ogun state (see video)
The goal for EYiA is to enhance long-term sustainability and resilience of food production systems in Nigeria, and to be part of the solution to youth unemployment in Africa.
