In a world where speed, creativity, and productivity are non-negotiable, investing in the right tools isn’t a luxury — it’s a strategy. Founder & CEO at MendPro, Chioma Nnanna, shares powerful reasons she swears by her ChatGPT Plus subscription and why more of us need to rethink our reluctance to pay for digital tools:
I pay ₦9,900/month for ChatGPT — and I think you should too.
Here are two undeniable reasons why:
1. You need to get in the habit of paying for software. Seriously.
My fellow Nigerians, come closer.
I know it’s not cultural for many of us to spend money on things we can’t see or touch. Especially when we think we’re not earning enough yet.
But this mindset slows us down.
It robs us of speed, quality, and convenience, all things that actually help us grow.
Sometimes, trying to “save money” ends up costing more.
When the right tool can improve your work and save you hours, the smarter move is to pay.
Rewiring my brain around this changed everything about how I solve problems.
2. You can do almost anything with ChatGPT.
If you’re a scrappy founder like me, ChatGPT Plus is one of the best under-₦10k investments you can make.
Here’s what I use it for:
• Graphic generation
(₦50k–₦200k/month saved on a designer)
• Idea brainstorming & content
(No need to hire a consultant for every creative block)
• Task support + organization
(₦50k–₦150k/month saved on assistant)
If not perfect, nor does it replace humans but it helps you get started.
And if you’re a social media professional, ChatGPT Plus — along with other tools — should be part of your baseline.
In fact, I believe ambitious professionals should mentally allocate ₦100k/month to tools, even before you can afford to. This is how you become someone who works at that level.
When you price your services with that kind of stack in mind,
you attract clients who value quality and you deliver it.
The UAE recently gave all its residents free access to ChatGPT Plus.
That’s not charity. That’s a productivity play, one that leads to better economic outcomes.
That’s what it looks like to play chess at the policy level.
I wish I were getting paid to write this post, but I’m not.
I just want more people to work smarter and live easier.
Oh— and if you’re waiting for anything from me (AI headshot or a file), sit tight I’ve got you.
And if there’s a problem you’re currently trying to solve, drop in the comments. I might be able to recommend a tool that can help.
Who says we can’t all move smarter? 🤷🏽♀️
