Fast-casual dining brand Toasties has quietly kicked off the soft launch of its flagship outlet in Ikoyi, Lagos, signaling a bold step in its scaling journey. Located at 113 Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, the new store is open for limited hours during its soft-launch phase—typical hours range from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Toasties continues its signature approach of high-tempo service, fresh ingredients and creative sandwich hybrids—rooted in local flavours and global technique.
Says Adesuwa Okunbo-Rhodes (Founding Partner & CEO,

We’re proud to celebrate a significant milestone for Toasties ng, one of our portfolio companies, as they open their first flagship store at Biscuit Bone and Co. on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi
Since our investment earlier this year, the Toasties team, led by the dynamic Eka Obaigbena, has demonstrated exceptional execution and vision, transforming an idea into a thriving retail experience.
At Aruwa Capital Management, we invest in women-led businesses driving innovation and redefining industry standards across Africa. Toasties is a prime example of how local brands can scale with purpose, create jobs, and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s creative economy.
This launch is not just a new chapter for Toasties, it’s a testament to what’s possible when capital meets capability and passion meets opportunity.
Congratulations once again to the Toasties & Board team for achieving this exciting milestone.

Meet the founder: Eka Obaigbena
Eka Obaigbena is the chef-entrepreneur behind Toasties, and her journey sets the tone for the brand’s ethos of innovation and quality. After graduating from university with a degree in journalism, she entered the culinary arts by enrolling at the French Culinary Institute (now The International Culinary Center) in New York City in 2011.

She gained professional kitchen experience at Michelin-starred restaurants in New York and Madrid, and cack in Nigeria, she launched the food blog BiscuitBoneBlog in 2012, under the motto “Playing with African food,” where she experimented with fusion recipes.
In 2016 she established Toasties as a fast-casual dining concept aimed at reinventing how Africans experience meals on the go—especially through sandwiches, salads and high-quality local ingredients.
Obaigbena has publicly spoken about the importance of building consistent team processes, strong customer experience and sourcing high-quality local ingredients.
Her entrepreneurial vision is clear: to make quality, convenient and creatively-crafted food accessible in Nigeria—and eventually across Africa.
