The Electric Motor Vehicle Company – EMVC) – a Nigerian electric vehicle (EV) production leader – were thrilled to recently welcome the European Union delegation to Nigeria (led by Inga Stefanowicz and Massimo De Luca) to its factory
Prince Mustapha Mona Audu (CEO of EMVC) shares details of the visit:
They joined us for a comprehensive tour of our brand new facilities, the largest electric vehicle factory in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa, where they learned about our cutting-edge manufacturing processes, innovative products, and commitment to sustainability.
We are proud to showcase our expertise and look forward to continuing to serve the region with excellence.
For Massimo De Luca (European Union Head of Cooperation, Nigeria and ECOWAS):
The recent visit to EMVC proved that e-mobility provides a powerful path towards re-industrialization in #Nigeria. E-vehicles are relatively simple to assemble and address the specific challenges faced by small business and ordinary citizens in Africa.
As European Union Delegation to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and ECOWAS, we are open to find ways to support e-mobility as part of our cooperation activities and the EU Global Gateway in particular. From simple assembling, it will be important to develop the wider value chain, including batteries and aluminum, making use of Nigeria’s abundant mineral resources.
Prince Audu has presented innovations in EVs designed for agricultural purposes and other uses, such as city shuttles, estate shuttles, and taxis. The EMVC range of vehicles is made from local components, and named after Nigerian titles.
