Simone Biles has just led the U.S. women’s gymnastics team to Olympic gold at Paris 2024.
If Biles never competed again, her legacy would be secure as the greatest. With seven Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals, she is the most decorated gymnast of all time. Five skills are named after her. Her triple-double in her floor routine is the only “J” rated skill in women’s gymnastics, earning her an entire additional point for its difficulty.
Ms. Biles applies the same dexterity to her business ventures, which when combined with an exceptional gymnastics career and lucrative endorsement deals, places her current net worth around the US$16 million mark.
Example: In October 2021, the Olympic star partnered with leading online mental health provider, Cerebral, as its Chief Impact Officer (CIO). After being on the team for less than two months, the mental health startup’s value vaulted to US$4.8 billion, following a US$300 million Series C round led by SoftBank Vision Fund 2 on December 08.
Her impact as the face of Cerebral – investing in the business and advocating for mental health following the aftermath of her own personal battle – is referred to as the G.O.A.T effect.
Another example: the famous Olympic gold medalist gymnast recently joined Serena Williams‘ latest venture into a wig company, named Parfait, which specialises in Artificial Intelligence-driven technology for producing personalised wigs.
