June 04, 2024/ Lagos-Nigeria…. Dr. Chinyere Almona (Director-General & CEO, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Mrs. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem (Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment in Lagos State) recently met to explore various strategies for enhancing the business environment for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs), in recognition of this segment’s critical role in driving economic growth and job creation.
Summarising the essence of their meeting, Dr. Almona says:
Matters relating to trade and industry, support for SMEs, and investment opportunities in Nigeria are always on my mind. We discussed the importance of creating a supportive ecosystem that includes access to finance, capacity-building programs, and access to market opportunities.
The discussion generated some tangible actions that we plan to implement. These actions aim to create a more dynamic and thriving economic landscape in Lagos State, benefiting businesses of all sizes and fostering sustainable development.
I look forward to seeing the impact of our collaborative efforts.
