Nathan Nwachuku is a 21-year-old software engineer who dropped out of university at 18 to solve critical problems. Today, along with 23 year-old Co-Founder Maxwell Maduka, Nwachuku is the Chairman of TerraHaptix, a Nigerian robotics startup that develops low-cost, autonomous drones that serve critical sectors such as Agriculture, Energy, Mining, Construction, and Telecoms.
Says Nwachuku:
Since we began operations 4 months ago, we have recorded almost $1M in revenue and $15M in LOIs from customers across Energy, Mining, Agriculture.
TerraHaptix is solving a critical problem: the $250B automation crisis for core industries in emerging economies. We are building low-cost mobile robots to automate core industries globally, not fight wars.
Backed by top investors and partners, Terrahaptix recently opened a 15,000 sq-ft robot manufacturing factory in Abuja, which is set to begin production in June 2024. The facility has a production capacity of 10,000 units annually.
MILESTONES
- Only last month, Terrahptix introduced its first autonomous reconnaissance drone, Archer – a significant leap forward for aerial intelligence in Africa. Archer operates autonomously in the battlespace, conducting ISR with precision, even in harsh environments.
According to Nathan:
Security threats across Africa are evolving at an alarming rate. Only superior technology can credibly deter our adversaries and keep Africa safe. TerraHaptix is dedicated to solving Africa’s critical security crisis with advanced technology
- Six months prior, the company had unveiled Artemis-1 (its AI-powered mission and fleet management software), with the team carrying out a successful autonomous test flight of the Terrahaptix JL-F7 surveillance drone, powered by Artemis.
Nwachuku concludes:
Every great hardware needs an equally great software. From defense to logistics, we aim to transform critical industries in Africa with drone technology.
