Home-grown geospatial software firm Milsat Technologies has emerged as the core technical force behind Nigeria’s newly launched National Digital Postcode infrastructure.
Founded by tech entrepreneurs Taslim Saluadeen and Adedamola Baderinwa, Milsat has scaled its proprietary spatial data infrastructure from a limited pilot project in 2023 to a full national rollout. The system is designed to modernize public services, boost commercial logistics, and generate new economic value across the country.
Driving national infrastructure and beyond
The digital postcode system represents a leap forward for Nigeria’s spatial addressing infrastructure. Beyond postcodes, Milsat’s field mapping capabilities have already contributed to critical national initiatives:
- Digital Census Preparation: Supported the National Population Commission (NPC) by mapping more than 65 million properties nationwide.
- Pan-African Footprint: Expanded operations across international borders, deploying enumeration area demarcation technology for government projects in Sierra Leone.

The initiative highlights strong multi-agency and private-sector collaboration. Key stakeholders contributing to the landmark project include:
- Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST): Driving national postal administration and service adoption.
- National Population Commission (NPC): Partnering on property mapping and demographic data alignment.
- Meeds Network Limited: Providing strategic network and infrastructure support.
Milsat’s trajectory underscores the strength of indigenous innovation, proving that Nigerian technology companies are fully equipped to build complex, national-scale solutions before taking that expertise to the global stage.
