AI EVERYTHING KENYA X GITEX KENYA will debut in Nairobi from 19–21 May 2026 as East Africa’s largest AI and technology event, positioning Kenya as a major hub for inclusive AI, digital sovereignty, and regional innovation leadership.
Organised by GITEX organiser inD, in partnership with the Office of the Special Envoy on Technology of Kenya, the event aims to accelerate investment, AI infrastructure, and cross-border collaboration across a rapidly growing East African market of more than 300 million people.
The three-day programme includes:
- The Inclusive AI Everything Summit at Sarit Expo Centre on 19 May
- The AI EVERYTHING KENYA EXPO at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on 20–21 May
The event will convene policymakers, investors, startups, global tech firms, and innovators to explore how AI can address Africa’s biggest challenges, including:
- food security
- financial inclusion
- cybersecurity
- energy access
- sovereign AI
- language and cultural preservation
Kenya’s Special Envoy for Technology, Philip Thigo, described the event as a defining moment for East Africa’s AI future, focused on inclusive growth and African-led innovation.
The summit will feature international participation from organisations such as:
- Goldman Sachs
- IBM
- AGRA
- the European AI Office
- government representatives from Rwanda, Ghana, Mozambique, and Tanzania
The expo floor will host major global and regional technology companies including:
- Cisco
- Fortinet
- Mastercard
- Kaspersky
- Zoho
- Africa Data Centers
A strong investment and startup focus underpins the event. Kenya attracted over US$1.04 billion in venture capital funding in 2025, making it Africa’s leading VC destination. More than 100 investors from 21 countries, collectively managing over US$50 billion in assets, are expected to attend.
The programme also includes:
- the Venture Scaling Forum
- the Supernova startup pitch competition
- AI implementation workshops
- cybersecurity simulations
- AI readiness programmes led by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
Overall, the event is designed to position East Africa as a serious global AI ecosystem while promoting African-led solutions, talent development, and digital economic growth.
